I had a wonderful Thanksgiving this weekend. I was unable to spend it with my family, but I made the best of it.
One of my instructors invited me to join his family for Thanksgiving dinner. They were all so gracious and welcoming, I felt completely at ease. And, they were all wonderful cooks and I ate waaaay too much. I was allowed to take home some left-overs and ate them all weekend long.
I did not want to arrive empty handed, so I brought a couple of bottles of wine as hostess gifts. Plain wine bottles are boring though so I took advantage of the temporarily free pattern that has been offered by Go To Patterns. Eventually, I want to make the gift bags to be re-used each year. But I am going to use up the paper I own first. I made two different bags for each of my bottles.
I think they turned out very pretty nice and they were super easy. I did not make the contrasting pieced version because I wanted them to be more simple.
The rest of the weekend I spent in my hotel room sewing and dancing to music. Not the ideal holiday weekend, but nice all the same.
